SUGAR @ Haraju-Cube (Empire Damansara)

Situated just right across our favourite doughnut cafe Fiskee Dough sits a Japanese toast cafe, Haraju-Cube! Judging from the constant line waiting to taste the well-known Honey Toast, there's no possible way that SUGAR's missing out on this!

Kicking off our Honey Toast tasting session was Haraju-Bomb which is not in any way, an understatement of a name. Extravagantly decorated with matcha ice cream, marshmallows, multiple flavoured Pocky sticks, wafer cubes, bits of honeycomb crumbs, topped with a piece of fresh strawberry and sesame seeds, this is definitely one that made for the gram, Instagram that is.

Just as you thought that's it, just wait till you cut the toast and find mini caramelised (with French butter) cubes of toast! Hidden gem much?

With a crusty exterior and a softer texture on the inside, you'd never get bored of this dessert as you alternate between both. Or better yet, why not experiment and have a bite of both at the same time?

However, unless you have an ultra appetite we wouldn't recommend you have this alone as is it very generously proportioned. Made for 2~3 person sharing, we'd say.

We all know and love the cheese tart trend that's been taking the city by storm. Not one to be left out of the trend, this establishment has come up with their very own Haraju-Tart! With a flaky crust and melty cheese filling (think liquid-like melty, YUM!), this cheese tart is definitely one strong contender of the trend.

Not wanting you to feel bored of the cheese tart just yet, they've decided to serve it with a side of vanilla ice cream drizzled with blueberry puree to balance out the sweetness.

If you're one big fan of desserts but your friend isn't, there's still no reason to not visit Haraju-Cube as they've got savoury toast too! #bestofbothworlds

One, in particular, stood out with ham and cheese topped on each quadrant of the toast and an egg yolk that bursts into the richest yellow colour as soon as you poke into it, was Ham-Cheese. Served with a side of greens, this is the perfect brunch.

Finally to wash it all down was Butterscotch Haraju-Milk, a great way to end the day on a high note. Lightly flavoured with butterscotch, this cute bottle of milk will definitely be the right pick-me-up in one of those mornings to make everything just a-okay. They say, always start your day right with a glass of milk, and we couldn't agree more.

Boasting a clean, white minimalistic interior with a splash of bright yellow, this cafe would be one that cheers you up even before you taste their sweet treats. Don't just take our word for it, we dare you to take on the challenge to not smile just as soon as you step foot into this cafe!
